| EXPENSIVE - 5/30/2014
The cost of living in this area is outright ridiculous. I can't wait to move. There is a lot of crime. There is a lot of traffic. The people drive like they are the only people on the road. Everybody is in a bad mood all the time from long commutes, high cost of living, and listening to a barrage of negative politics on the radio, t.v. etc. I am moving ASAP. By the way, I am a native of this area. I moved away for 20 years and only came back because of my family, but it is not like it was when I was growing up. Then it had a more small town appeal and the prices were reasonable. It is very difficult to afford to live here as a single person, and unless you make an incredible amount of money you will end up living in a dump.

| Close to Washington DC - 6/22/2006
The cost of living in Lake Ridge is quite high though not as high as the Washington DC area. Washington is about 30 miles from Lake Ridge and easily accessible by public transportation. Thus you can enjoy all the attractions of the DC area without the excessive costs associated with living there.
