There are two Rockaways in Morris County, NJ.: Rockaway Boro and Rockaway Twp. Both are unique with Rockaway Boro being the older of the two. Both share common boundaries and both are easilly accessed off I-80 East and West. The Rockaways in Morris County, New Jersey are approximately 30 miles east of NYC and offers many ammenities. Like any community(s) there are pros and cons. Although NJ Real Estate taxes are the highest in the country, and there are more cars per square foot than anyother state, you can't find a better location, nor one that offers so many benefits: less than 1 hour to NYC; major shore points, West Point Military Academy, three major airports,and the world renowned medical facilities.

Rockaway Parks Lake - 9/7/2006

Nice town for New Jersey. The walking path around Parks Lake is a great place for the entire family and a good way to meet new people. It has that small town feel. Sundays in the summer the Boro and Township sponsor free concerts at the Parks Lake Gazebo.
