Not such a bad place to live - 11/2/2010
To people in Jacksonville the town of Hilliard is just a country place where a bunch of rednecks live. May be true enough but people here are quite friendly and look out for each other. There is virtually no crime, especially once you get outside of the small residential areas. It's only a 30-45 minute commute to Jax (if you absolutely have to work in that crime infested, dirty, crowded hellhole) but gives you affordable property and the freedom to live how you want. There's probably a "Hilliard" area near every big town so if you like that and absolutely are forced to work in JAX this may be a great choice for you.
