Beautiful coastal village - relaxing place to go - 2/2/2018
We purchased a 2nd home in BBH 3 years ago. We have seen the improvements over the years with the expansion of the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens and the rotary in Boothbay Commons area. We love it. The summers are comfortable and the scenery is spectacular. We have a wonderful caretaker who can't do enough for us. I highly recommend a home purchase here. Its an easy place to navigate with the beauty of the Southport Island beach close and the scenic Ocean Point/Grimes Cove area minutes away. The only negative is in August when the traffic through Wiscasset can be daunting. If we have to shop, we leave by 6-6:30am to head towards Brunswick to avoid the snarl in Wiscasset. Favorite time of year is Sept-early November and mid-June to July. We live in PA year round and many go to the NJ Shore...I will never understand its appeal other than the shorter drive time.
