I was born here but lived in two other counties in Alabama. We moved to Gadsden area when I was 8. This place has it's advantages and drawbacks. It is said to be the highest taxed city in Alabama. Crime rate is high. I personally recommend moving to the outskirts like Rainbow City, Southside, Glencoe, or Attalla. Hokes Bluff is an all white community and aren't very good about welcoming blacks. I lived in Hokes Bluff for four years. My late grandparents lived in Hokes Bluff for thirty plus years and didn't like it
