What BestPlaces Users Say about Benicia

Benicia, California is a small waterfront city located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Known for its historical charm and scenic views, it has a population of approximately 28,000 people. The city boasts a lively downtown area and a variety of recreational activities, making it a popular place to live. However, like any other city, it has its share of pros and cons. Let's take a look at what some users have to say about living in Benicia.

Benicia has received mixed reviews from its residents. Some praise its community feel and convenient location, while others criticize its high cost of living and lack of diversity. User "SarahJ" comments, "I absolutely love living in Benicia. The downtown area is quaint and has a great community vibe. It's also close to major cities like San Francisco and Napa, making it easy to explore." Similarly, "DavidP" shares, "The waterfront views here are unbeatable. I enjoy taking walks along the marina and watching the sunset." However, not all reviews are positive. "StephanieM" expresses her disappointment, saying, "I moved to Benicia for its small-town charm, but it's not as affordable as I had hoped. The cost of living is high and there's not much diversity here." Another user, "MichaelK," adds, "The lack of diversity in Benicia can be isolating. It's a predominantly white community and I wish there was more cultural representation."

i've lived lots of places and benicia is by far the worst. th kist here (12-20) are jerks, they jump infront of cars, run around the stores like crazy people and are just rude. the parents of such kids could care less because they are just as bad!
2 months arfer moving here my mom's car was stolen from the driveway and we live in the "good part" of town, late last year my dad's truck had it's gas line cut downtown. what do the police do? they just ask if you're sure the gas line has actually been cut and then say well we're not going to do a report.
also don't try to watch shooting stars, the cops will be all over you, and you will get pulled over for looking at christmas lights.

No need for a car in this town - 9/4/2007
I'm a Californian who doesn't like cars, traffic or driving. That's why I moved to Benicia, so I could walk to work if I wanted. After work, I really don't need a car either. Downtown is close and everything is fairly centrally located. I feel so lucky to have the Bay at the foot of my street. It inspires my morning walks and helps a lot on hot summer days. There's not much better than the fresh air off the bay at any time of the Read More
