I've lived in Lakewood for 23 1/2 yrs and absolutely love "my" city. It is a good sized city with a small town feel. We have many beautiful parks available, great restaurant choices and lots of shopping options. The city is kept clean and very pro-active in removal of grafity. We also have a wonderful program called DASH that provides free transit on special "mini buses" for our seniors and disabled Monday-Friday for any reason whatsoever. They also serve some parts of Long Beach, Bellflower and Alamitos for medical appointments. We are also centrally located between Los Angeles and Anaheim (home of Disneyland). Lots of theater and cultural options in Lakewood and in close by areas (Long Beach being one of them). I'm very proud to call this friendly city

You can't beat the weather in Southern California. With over crowding, increased gang violence and a weak job market, it is the one of the few positive thing about living here.
