What BestPlaces Users Say about Tulare

Tulare, California is a small city located in the San Joaquin Valley with a population of approximately 64,000 people. It is known for its agricultural industry, particularly its production of dairy products. However, the city has been experiencing rapid growth in recent years, leading to a diverse community and a wide range of opinions from its residents. Here are some excerpts from four different user reviews on the website BestPlaces.net, showcasing the various perspectives on living in Tulare.

1. From user "SarahD": "I moved to Tulare a few years ago and I have loved it ever since. The cost of living is affordable, the people are friendly, and there are plenty of job opportunities. Plus, the weather is amazing year-round!"

2. From user "JohnM": "Tulare used to be a great place to live, but now it's just too crowded and congested. The traffic has become unbearable and the crime rates have increased. I'm thinking about moving to a smaller town nearby."

3. From user "EmilyP": "I have lived in Tulare my whole life and it's a great place to raise a family. The schools are good and the community is close-knit. However, there isn't much to do for entertainment and the summers can get extremely hot."

4. From user "DavidS": "I moved to Tulare for work and I have to say, it's been a difficult adjustment. The air quality is poor and there aren't many options for dining or shopping. It's not the most exciting place to live, but it's definitely affordable."

I hated living in this awful place!!!!! - 5/2/2017
Tulare is a terrible place to raise a family, that is why i did everything i could to get my newborn out of there!!!!! There is not only ZERO culture but there is an almost anti-intelligent air about the county. Good conversation does not exist unless it's about the Raiders or the 49rs. The "agriculture" that you talk about is only available to the wealthy in the area, everyone else is considered trash and make minimum wage! Visalia people make fun of tulare. The whole place feels like a prison yard! Truly one of the worst places i've every Read More

Los Tules School - 6/4/2013
Great school! Caring involved teachers and principle. Our granddaughter was new there this year and the staff and some of the other students helped to make her feel welcomed. I don't remember the name of the group but the school has older kids who are assigned to help all of the other students feel like they are not alone. They have someone they can talk to or go to with a problem if they don't want to talk to a teacher. It's also nice to just have someone who says hi how are things going and mean it. When my granddaughter was bullied at the beginning of the year she told her teacher and he handled the problem right away. I highly recommend this school.  Read More

Cow Town - 4/5/2010
Tulare, California is a very stable place to live. It is a perfect place to raise a family. It is a very small and friendly town. Cows and agriculture is our specialty. There is a very low crime rate here. The summers here are very hot and humid, and the winters are foggy and wet. However, there is not much to do here. To have a nice night out, you would have to go to our neighboring city, Visalia, a good 10 miles away. There is also not much diversity here. That being said, Tulare is the right place for you if you are seeking a small town full of Read More
