changing weather patterns - 1/22/2014
The weather patterns have been slowly changing over the past three years.
Sun burns off the fog in the morning hours from early June through July over past 3 years. Prior to 2010, the morning fog would dissipate faster, and last only a week or two. Classic California summer weather - warm from June through September has shifted from mid-July through October--and this year the warm days have pretty much remained from November through mid January and beyond. Today, Jan 20, for example, is sunny and mild with temps in the lows 70's. It looks like summer is starting later and ending later with each passing year.

Westminster is a very busy, albeit somewhatsafer area to live. It's nicely located not far from freeways or the beach, has a good mall and plenty of shopping options. Little Saigon is a fun place to take visitors. It's at the crossroads of three large cities (Santa Ana, Huntington Beach and Garden Grove) and that makes for some heavily trafficked roads and polluted air. It's not really a place to raise kids, unless you find a private school. The public schools here rate very poorly, unfortunately. Overall, a nice town. But don't expect too much

Great weather year round. Summers are usually in the high 70s-80s, and occasionally peak in the low 90s. Winters are moderate (70's).
You can literally ski, hike and surf in the same day if you wanted to.
