First of all, you need to get your data straight-there are more than 6oo+ people living in Blairsville. With the lack of convenience, decent restaurants, and social activities (other than activities for the elderly) I could see how it may feel that only 600 people reside here. I must give credit where credit is due-Blairsville is a beautiful place. The mountains are beautiful, the land is spread far and wide, and some of the old properties look like a postcard of yesteryear. As with many things, beauty can only get you so far. It's the quality that counts. There are several "mom&pop" restaurants, which most are ok at best (if you like fried, greasy and cheap). As far as daily convenience-forget it! The closest place to really purchase anything is Atlanta (1.5-2 hrs.). I could go on & on. To sum it up for you-Blairsville is a wonderful place to end up. There is so much good to say about this area but one item on top of the list is the climate. We get approx. 6 inches of snow a year. Two months of the year is typical hot summer weather.
