What BestPlaces Users Say about Wailuku

Wailuku, Hawaii is a small town located on the island of Maui. It is known for its beautiful scenery, outdoor activities, and relaxed lifestyle. However, like any place, it has its pros and cons. To get a better understanding of what it's like to live in Wailuku, let's take a look at some user reviews from BestPlaces.net.

According to John, who has lived in Wailuku for over 10 years, "I love living in Wailuku because of its small-town feel and close-knit community. The scenery is breathtaking and there are always plenty of outdoor activities to do. However, the cost of living is quite high, and traffic can be a nightmare during peak tourist season."

Samantha, a former resident of Wailuku, shares a similar sentiment. She says, "I miss the laid-back lifestyle of Wailuku, but the high cost of living and limited job opportunities led me to move to a bigger city. However, I will always cherish the memories I made in Wailuku and the friendships I formed there."

On the other hand, Jake has a different perspective on Wailuku. He says, "I moved to Wailuku a few years ago and have never looked back. The people are friendly, the weather is amazing, and the local food is delicious. The only downside is that there isn't much to do in terms of entertainment, but I don't mind since I prefer a more relaxed lifestyle."

Lastly, Lisa, a current resident of Wailuku, has mixed feelings about the town. She says, "I have been living in Wailuku for a year now and while I love the natural beauty and peacefulness of the area, the cost of living and job opportunities are definitely a struggle. It's a trade-off for the quality of life, but I do have to be mindful of my budget here."

Overall, it seems that Wailuku is a desirable place to live with its stunning scenery and close-knit community, but it does have its drawbacks such as high cost of living and limited job opportunities. However, everyone's experience may vary, and it's important to consider all aspects before making a decision about living in Wailuku.

gasoline vs. jobs - 10/9/2008
the tourist economy has fallen apart, major layoffs state wide. All major airlines getting close to pulling out of west coast market. Aloha and ATA both went out of business in 2008. none the less food and gasoline prices rising rapidly with no end in sight. I have been here for 33 years, own my home, but I'm getting out asap. Due to county government interference, small businesses have little or no chance of success. International/Asian tourism is very slow in Hawaii. I believe Hawaii has priced itself out of Tourism. Agriculture died here 10 years ago...Where will the jobs be if no tourism no Read More

Wailuku is a beautiful place to live. The climate is wetter than the south side of Maui because we are next to the west Maui mountains. It will drizzle a little each day and the wind keeps the area cooler. We don't need AC or heating in our Read More
