I lived in Greenfield, MA from 1991 to 1993,and I loved living there and would like to visit again, the only two negatives being the harsh New England winters and the lack of jobs in the city itself ( you need to commute to Northampton or Amherst, as the five college area 25 minutes south is where most of the major employers are). It is an old New England town that once was the center of the tap and die industry but is now in a post industrial age and going through all the problems common to other cities in the Northeast and midwest.

The cost of living is reasonable, the housing is of high quality, and the people are wonderful. I haven't lived there in seventeen years, yet I am still in close contact with friends I made during my time there.

I really miss it-the gorgeous green hills in the spring and summer, Dino's Munch and Lunch, where you can get the best grinders ( sub sandwiches) in Western Massachusetts, and the easy access to U Mass Amherst, Smith Read More
