Typical Midwest Climate - 10/15/2014
The summers fluctuate from 70's to 90's, depending on summer. Humidity levels are usually higher and air quality is typical metropolitan area, being located just north of Detroit. Winters can be extremely cold and last year broke the record for snow and cold. Not recommended for those with health problems affected by climate, ie. COPD, arthritis. I grew up and still live in Eastpointe. It's a really nice place to live and raise a family. The school district is one of the best in Macomb County, houses are affordable, the city is safe, and the population is becoming even more diverse. Eastpointe has suffered in the past due to its location on the northern border of Detroit, and therefore was thought of as a dangerous community, full of crime, but this is nonsense. The crime rate in Eastpointe is dramatically lower than the Detroit neighborhoods that border it, and is identical to its sorrounding suburbs. One of the best aspects of Eastpointe is its proximity to everything. I-94 runs along the eastern border, 1-696 a mile north, and nothing in the metro area is more than a half-hour drive.
