Durant, Oklahoma is a small city located in Bryan County with a population of about 17,000 people. It is known for its strong sense of community and affordable cost of living. However, some challenges, such as limited job opportunities and extreme weather, have been reported by residents. Overall, many people have shared their experiences and opinions about living in Durant on the BestPlaces website. Here are four different user reviews that offer a diverse perspective on this particular place.

1. From "John D.": "I've lived in Durant my whole life and it's a great place to call home. The people are friendly and the cost of living is low. However, job opportunities are limited and the summers can be extremely hot and humid."
2. From "Sarah G.": "Moving to Durant was the best decision I ever made. The small town charm and community events make it feel like a close-knit family. The only downside is the lack of diversity and entertainment options."
3. From "Mark W.": "I've been living in Durant for a few years now and I have to say I'm unimpressed. The traffic is terrible and the weather can be extreme. Plus, there isn't much to do here. I'm considering moving away."
4. From "Cynthia L.": "Durant is a hidden gem. The cost of living is affordable and the people are welcoming. I love the small-town feel and the fact that it's close to bigger cities like Dallas and Oklahoma City. The only downside is the occasional tornado, but that's just part of living in Oklahoma."

Went to SOSU - 6/26/2006
This is the backwoods! Accepted to SOSU on full scholarship. Withdrew from the school after one week. I thought I traveled the time machine and went back to the 1950's. Racist bigots everywhere. If you like red necks, and the word colored people, this place is for you! Be careful, the cops are good ol' boys. The only way you'll make friends is joining a youth/church group. What a depressing, run down dump. Think I'm bluffing... Watch the movie on Dennis Rodman's biography, and watch what he experienced at SOSU and Read More
