I feel my kid was abused in this school and the people new in this neighborhood. We finally figured it out. No thanks to anyone in this area. But we demanded a due process they tried to settle. We didn't settle. Here comes protective services claims of abuse. We had accused this school abusing our daughter for over a year. Before we moved from there was two more allegations made to protective services which all charges was unfounded this school does not like people standing up for there rights.I feel the staff and the big dogs used there status. We owned our home and left it our kid was more important.Clarendon Texas school left my child in a lighting storm in aunt bed , sprayed vinegar and water in her mouth.Mind you we was not happy. No one protects our kids at school my child quit talking and smiling as soon as she came home she locked all doors and fear the school and buses. All our daughter wanted was to go home to her daddy where she felt safe. Our kid learned a one things how Read More

Nice Town - 1/25/2010
I love this little town. I feel safe. Half the time I forget to lock my doors or leave the garage door standing open. Have never had a problem with crime. The Sheriff is attentive to the town and responds quickly when called.

Pros:
A nice, small town atmosphere. Safe. Only an hour from Amarillo for better shopping, eating out, night out, etc. Quiet town. People seem happy and friendly. Good specials on groceries at the local Lowe's grocery. Bronco burger is a great place to eat. Low property tax on house. Most houses have large yards. Houses are inexpensive. Very nice, large Community College in Clarendon. Tuition is extremely inexpensive.

Cons:
Biggest con: Annual Personal property tax on vehicles of appx. 1.4% - which gets expensive quickly if you drive a newer vehicle. This will be one of my biggest reasons for not staying in Clarendon. The Personal Property tax is in Donley County (where Clarendon is located). But most other counties in Texas Read More
