People who have relocated to Indianapolis - How is

I am thinking of moving to Indianapolis, the Fishers area for a better and more affordable housing.

I have many concerns about:
Job Market
People
Politics
Diversity
Crime

I have heard that Indiana is a conservative state.
Is Indianapolis and Fishers tolerant, non-judgmental.

It would be great to hear from people who have relocated into Indianapolis from other states.
I live in New York.

Did you move here? I hope not, for your sake. Especially from New York. I've been here three years and have a new liking for watching paint dry when I want a break from the non excitement the place has to offer.

I moved to Indianapolis from Michigan. I know, right next door but worlds apart. It's awful in Indy. Don't do it Bro. There are so many cool places to live in other states. All Indy has going for it is that it's cheap. It's cheap because more people want to move out than want to move in...supply and demand...I learned about it in Econ 101. Anyway, Indy's cheap. Peoria is cheaper still and every bit as, uh, exciting. If cheap is what you're after, consider Gary, Flint or Toledo. All close to NFL teams. All cheaper than Indy.
