Review of Parkersburg, West Virginia

The air quality data shown here appears to be quit
Star Rating - 7/1/2008
Please be very careful to check other sources for air quality in Parkersburg. The data here shows 49, yet for Belpre & Marietta (Ohio) which are adjacent to Parkersburg, it shows 18. Several types of plastics are manufactured within the bounds of Parkersburg, Belpre & Marietta (OH). The area, known as the Mid-Ohio Valley, frequently suffers thermal inversions, in which the polluted air is trapped close to the ground. The economy in Parkersburg depends heavily on various plastics and chemical plants, including a large DuPont Teflon facility, which is in the middle of a class action lawsuit for dispersing C-8, a known carcinogen, into the air and water -- for several decades.

Thank you I.B. I have been seeking small, less congested and affordable places to relocate, and have been researching WV. Air quality is, along with a clean environment crucial. I appreciate your comment.
