I rented in Oakmont for 2 years and commuted to downtown Pittsburgh daily. I recently bought a home here and love it. I have lived in 17 other locations over the past 15 or so years while in the military among other things and this is by far the best place I have lived. The cost of everything is on par for the location, the people are nice and friendly, and the town pride is a desired attribute. If anyone is looking for a diamond in the rough, Oakmont is it.
