Review of Kealakekua, Hawaii

Kona is paradise!
Star Rating - 11/1/2021
Property taxes are super low here and go DOWN if you live on your property (rather than rent it out), and is reduced even more after you are 60 years old. The gorgeous beaches and beautiful aloha spirit made me a big Big Island fan 4 years ago. The amazing variety of tropical fruit and the crystal clear ocean water (no seaweed!) is perfect for swimming, fishing, surfing, snorkeling all year long.
Food ad gas prices are high because so much has to travel 2700 miles, but it is offset by the food you can grow yourself, resident discounts (kama'aina), and as mentioned above super low property taxes (I am comparing to Seattle). And no need to visit the mainland because friends and family love to vacation here in paradise.
