Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) - What A JOKE!
Star Rating - 8/1/2007
The Albuquerque public school system has to be one of the worst in the country. The have some of the lowest test scores in every subject, one of the highest high-school dropout-rates in the U.S, and a very low budget per student with not enough desks, textbooks, tables, etc...

Take my advice - DO NOT MOVE HERE IF YOU WANT TO RAISE A HAPPY FAMILY! I moved out here about five years ago from Las Vegas, Nevada where all of my kids where Honor roll students and within the first year all of my kids' grades dropped to D's and F's, and my oldest (age 16) attempted to commit suicide!

DO NOT MOVE OUT HERE! DO NOT MOVE OUT HERE! DO NOT MOVE OUT HERE!

Your kids must have been going to one of the really bad high schools in Albuquerque. A lot of the high schools in APS actually have very good test scores. Go to www.greatschools.net and you'll see what I'm talking about. People should be more concerned about crime, gangs, and drugs than the school system in Albuquerque.

If you have not lived here for awhile please do not sit here and tell people about how bad Albuquerque is because you don't know anything about it!! Yes the school systems are not the best here and many kids drop out but if your kids are really straight A students then it won't matter what school they are attending! It is not the schools fault for your childs grades but only their own fault! Oh and believe me uneducated people do not have it easy here but it is actually quite difficult for them to survive here. One last thing, not one person here has the right to be saying that we are "friggin" trashy people because I will be the first one to say every state has trashy people. I am sure that I am not trashy and for you to make that kind of judgement is very wrong because new mexico has had several successful people and if you think it is so bad then why waste your time coming here.
