What BestPlaces Users Say about Tarrytown
Tarrytown, New York, located in the town of Greenburgh, is a small community that boasts a rich history and scenic views of the Hudson River. It is known for its quaint downtown area with unique shops and restaurants, as well as its proximity to major cities like New York City and White Plains. However, like any other place, it has its own pros and cons. To get a better understanding of what living in Tarrytown is like, I have gathered user reviews from the website BestPlaces.net. Here are a few excerpts from four different reviewers:
1. "I love the small-town feel of Tarrytown. The community is very tight knit and everyone knows each other. It has a great school system and plenty of parks and recreational activities for families. However, the cost of living is quite high compared to other small towns." - Sarah M.
2. "Tarrytown is the perfect blend of suburban and urban living. It has all the conveniences of a city, but with a quieter and more relaxed atmosphere. The only downside is the traffic during rush hour." - John D.
3. "I have lived in Tarrytown for over 10 years and have witnessed the town's growth. While it has become more diverse and lively, it has also become more expensive. It's a great place to raise a family, but can be a bit crowded on weekends with tourists visiting the historical sites." - Maria G.
4. "As a young professional, I find Tarrytown to be a bit boring. There isn't much to do in terms of nightlife and the cost of living is too high for what the town offers. However, the views of the Hudson River are breathtaking and I do appreciate the peacefulness of the area." - Mark R.
Overall, it seems that Tarrytown is a pleasant and family-friendly place to live, but it may not be suitable for everyone due to its high cost of living and lack of entertainment options. However, the town's charm and proximity to major cities make it an attractive option for many.

Sleepy Hollow New York is a great place to live - 2/19/2014
Sleepy Hollow is a charming Rivertown village that has it all. It is conveniently located 37 minutes by Metro North Rail Road from Mid-Town Manhattan. Located along the banks of the picturesque Hudson River there is lots of fun recreation including boating, swimming (there's a beach & boat club), golf (Sleepy Hollow Country Club), hiking (The Rockefeller Preserve, The Croton Aqueduct trail, the River Walk), shopping & excellent restaurants.
And of course there's the history! Almost everyone has either read "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" or seen the new Fox TV show loosely based on Washington Irving's tale set right here in scenic Sleepy Hollow. Well you can visit The Old Dutch Church, tour the Rockefeller estate Kykuit, visit Philipsburg Manor (a recreation of a working mill & farm from the 1700's).
There are endless possibilities. And for high end shopping The Westchester Mall is 15 minutes by car or you can train into Manhattan in 37 minutes.
