hmmmmm.... what to say about Yoncker-ville I was raised in yoncalla for about the first ten years of my life, with sometime spent in sacramento, ca in between that time. I also visited relatives there until I was 16. And if there was one word I would describe yoncalla, i would use hick. There is basically no jobs, the only real stores are the general store that serves nothing but what you would find at a common convenient store, a hardware store and maybe a feed store if it's still there. In the main part of the cities you'll find run down homes, double wide mobile homes and seedy apartments. If you're going to find any sort of income, try dealing, working in Drain which is down the way, or better luck at the truck stop in Rice Hill or go to Roseburg (which is about 30 mins away). If you want a school for your kids, send them far away from yoncalla, as far as you're willing to commute. There is no hospitals very close. Crimes not high, because everyone knows everyone. It used to be a booming town for lumber but that is long since gone and remnants of the past still linger. The people are really, well, weird. Very hick. But i do know some very nice people who live there, some of the best. It's definitely not for people with kids of any age. I'd say if you want a really cheap place to retire, Yoncalla is just about the only thing it's good for, old people. Some of the homes on the outskirts of Yoncalla can be pretty nice, but may need some work. Basically if you're not originally from Yoncalla, high chance you won't stay. Even those born and raised there have been looking to escape since they've learned to drive.
