Slidell was the place where people that relied on the New Orleans economy could live in relative safety with good government good schools and low crime. Hurricane Katrina alter the demography, and economy of this community . There were significant of inflow of new residents from other parishes and a general upheaval . many portions of the city are still unrepaired, there are numerous strip malls that have not been repaired.
