Numbers Skewed by Vacation Homes
When looking at Cost of Living figures the high number attributed to the Astoria area includes several neighboring cities, Seaside, Cannon Beach, etc. These communities include large numbers of expensive vacation homes, and consequently the Cost of Living figure appears to be off...factor that in if you are considering the area. We feel it is a very affordable area with the exception of housing, and modest housing choices are quite available especially now in 2010.
