Quatrzsite is Not Worth the Trip Have been going to Quartzsite for about 15 years for the flea market and shows and things have been going downhill at this yearly event in recent years. The town has been charging ever more money to vendors to set up their stalls in Quartzsite and over the last couple of years, there has been fewer and fewer vendors showing up. It just isn't worth the trip anymore. Also, there is a police presence in Quartzsite that I'd not noticed in recent years. The town has become a police trap with the cops shaking down out of state tourists - no not me, but I heard complaints from others. There are better places to visit.
