Great Place to Live
I was born and raised in Denver; lived there 25 years, up until 10 months ago. The city has it's nice neighborhoods and it's bad ones. For the most part, the south part of the city in the nicest, such as Washington Park area and around DU. There are a lot of nice resturants in Downtown, some are pretty pricey though. The best thing about the food in Denver (IMHO) is the Mexican Food. (I recently moved to the south and they have never heard of green chili!!!) There are a lot of museums and art galleries in Denver, as well as a great symphony, opera, ballet and several theatres. Also, there are more parks within the city of Denver than any other city in the country, which is great even if you're not an outdoors-type person, as it adds to the beauty of the city. The mountains are not far away and the traffic is not bad coming back into the city. The previous post about horrible traffic coming back into the city on Sundays is bogus. There are several highways and roads that come down out of the mountains, and the interstate is large enough to accomodate the flow of traffic. Over all, I loved living in Denver, and if the job market there were better I would have never left.
