Seymour - The Gateway to God's Country
Nestled in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, Seymour, Tennessee is a growing community just southeast of Knoxville, Tenessee on U.S.Highway 441. Seymour is an unicorporated community located within mainly Sevier County with areas also in Knox and Blount Counties. Located minutes from Knoxville, Maryville and Sevierville, Seymour offers the advantages of a bedroom community with the opportunities of many larger communities but without the crime rate found in other metropolitan areas.
Whether one likes the city for entertainment, country for outside adventures such as river rafting, hiking or camping, community events such as youth sports and religious activities, Seymour is more than adequate yet quiet and well kept. For those who enjoy auto racing, the 411 Speedway offers racing on Saturday evenings and NASCAR's Bristol Speedway is an easy drive as is the Nashville Speedway.
Religious services are varied from mainline denominational churches to small independent churches and church plants. Churches represented include: Baptist, United Methodist, Christian, Community, Church of Christ, Charasmatic, and Roman Catholic (including Byzantine).
