Vampire Flies. I've been to Savannah many times. It is where my wife grew up. The downtown is picturesque and historic. There's a great beach. The food is to die for. Supping on the roof of hotel, we watched the ships come and go. There's one big problem I'm not finding in these comments. The sand gnats or vampire flies are vicious and pernicious. Your first day, if not covered with Cutter's or the local variety, you'll be eaten alive. The bites itch for 8 months.
