All of NY has high taxes but Tioga County fares better than most other counties in the state. Apalachin IS a great place to live; great schools, great neighbors, lovely scenery. Off the beaten track but just minutes to the Triple Cities area. Visit the Waterman Nature Center and hike the trails. Real estate is robust and the median price of a home is only $117,500!
