Best place to live
I have owned a home in Aptos for 10 years and cannot thing of anywhere else I would rather live. I have lived in San Diego, Orange County, Half Moon Bay, and other California communities near the beach. I have visited many States. There is nowhere with the natural beauty of the redwood forest flowing to the ocean, spectacular beaches, little village communities with the character that comes through not having a proliferation of chains and franchises, good shopping, excellent grocery stores, lots of movie theaters including many art screens, an active live music scene, and a very lively downtown close by in Santa Cruz. The schools are good, the crime is quite low, the neighborhoods are well planned and scenic, there are many excellent restaurants, and top rate resorts to put up your guests. For the child in everyone, there is the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, well maintained and safe. University of California, Santa Cruz is on one side, and California State University Monterey Bay is just to the south. There is also an excellent junior college (Cabrillo) in Aptos. If you can afford it, there is no better combination of culture, beauty, excellent weather, and proximity to other world class destinations.
