Small-town pride I used to live in Texarkana, which is about 15 miles away. Hooks always seemed like a friendly, quiet little town where the main focus is the school. Residents are very proud of their schools and their athletic teams. The people I met from there always seemed friendly and well-mannnered. It is close enough to Texarkana, which has a selection of restaurants and shopping.
