Poor, Sad Little town Some call it "sweet carthage" really...no industry other than the "Chuck Wagon" restaurant. The city has had high hopes for years of becoming a tourist destination with the 4 or 5 murals painted on buildings (no hotels of fine restaurants within the city) Very few businesses can sustain there, several of the banks have closed and moved out of town..Take a minute to drive thru this poor little town, only held up by a jail and a court house. Town has no interest in attracting real businesses that can last the test of time. Do yourself a favor and go to Southern Pines or Pinehurst NC.
