Wonderful climate The climate of Wilkes barre- Scranton area in the summer is very humid and hot with temperatures in the upper 80s and 90s most days. The fall is cooler with high temperatures in the 60s, 70s and the first frost isn't normally until early November . The winters are very similar to NYC and Philadelphia because of Atlantic winds and low elevation from the Wyoming Valley. Highs are normally in the 40s and lows in the mid 20s. On average there is about 25-30 inches of snow nothing compared to the cold harsh climate of western Pennsylvania city's like Erie and Pittsburgh.
