Sadly, as new and for the most part Hispanic families, have moved into the larger homes in the Brewington/Rogers area of Watsonville, where professional people used to live, the area has become scruffy. Many of the newer homeowners leave their grass uncut or fail to replace dead lawns or planting areas; others park on their lawns, leave toys out overnight, or leave lines of half-demolished cars in their driveways. The City should enforce existing codes but the department responsible tells me that do not have the staff.
