Athens is charming and clean. Athens is a charming and nice community. Its clean and well thought- out. It could use more industry...but, so could east Texas in general. A big plus, is that Athens does not have the traffic problems that Tyler has. Great area to raise a family...quiet and a hour away from the big city of Dallas.
