Very high property tax Arlington is a nice area, however the property taxes are very high. We built a home here in 2015 . The home is similar to the one we lived in in Arlington's "twin" city Stanwood our taxes were around 4K per yr there and here they are a whopping 7,040.00. 48% are voter approved (we were not owners when the levies were approved) but they went into effect shortly after. We were re assessed again this summer and the county says the value is up another 50k I know other people who have moved because of the high taxes. We built a home that we could retire in but will probably have to move to a place where the property tax rate is more reasonable. Eventually the high taxes will have a negative effect on the property value.
