Macomb - Pros/Cons Pros: 1. Low crime rate 2. Excellent school system 3. Low cost of living and housing 4. Affordable place to live 5. Home to Western Illinois University, a "Best in the Midwest" college as rated by Princeton Review 6. An overall good place to live Cons: 1. Huge drug problem (but the police seem to be making progress) 2. WIU is a big party school (they're making progress alleviating that too) 3. The economy is dominated by WIU, so it's hard to find employment if you don't want to work there
