re: moving from Austin TX to Seattle WA - 9/11/201
Hi
I am Canadian ( visited Seattle few times back in 2007/2008) and lived in Seattle's twin city across the border, Vancouver. From what you said about Seattle certain similarities spring to mind, i.e. the snootyness, unfriendly attitude to newcomers and the over-inflated prices for everything is really bad in both cities.
I am seriously thinking about getting a job in US, but preferably in the warmer, snow and ice free parts.
So Austin seems like a catch in your view eh ? ( hopefully it is not crime ridden as so many US cities are, mind you I have been spoiled here in Canada, in our biggest city Toronto with close to 5 mill people we just have about 50 gun crime related deaths every year, quite amazing) .
I think I will investigate my options. I really liked the late summer weather in Dallas back in 2010, very pleasant, so I can imagine living in Texas.
