Poorly maintained older areas and declining safety Chandler is a fairly low end suburb. Central Chandler is really run down and neglected by the city. City officials have a racist attitude towards lower income Hispanics. Chandler PD illegally arrested legal citizens who appeared Hispanic if they weren’t able to present immigration papers on the spot. In addition to that, all money from neighborhoods with a significant Hispanic population has been diverted away from them and been put towards predominantly white neighborhoods. Public utilities in central Chandler outside of the downtown district are in complete disrepair. All correspondence about these issues is completely ignored by the city help line or email.
