Whitestone, AK is a small community located in the northern part of Alaska with a population of only 31 people. Despite its small size, the town boasts a variety of businesses, outdoor activities, and other demographic organizations. Businesses in Whitestone include the Whitestone General Store & Grill which serves up home cooked meals and local grocery items as well as hunting supplies; NorthWoods Outdoor Outfitters which offers custom tours and gear rental; and Kinkaikee's Trading Post which sells locally sourced crafts and gifts. Year-round outdoor activities include hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, and snowmobiling. The town also hosts several local sporting events every year such as the annual Fishing Derby and the Fall Hunting Classic. The town also has several social organizations such as the Women's Auxiliary for Veterans and a community volunteer fire department.
