Cherokee City, AR is a small town in the northwest of Arkansas with a population of 57. The population density is 100 people per square mile, which is lower than the US average of 93 people per square mile. As such, Cherokee City has a very close-knit community and offers year-round outdoor activities for residents and visitors alike. Local businesses include Jay’s Grocery, Roper’s Barber Shop, and Turner’s Restaurant. For outdoor enthusiasts there are opportunities to enjoy fishing, hunting, camping, and hiking near nearby Lake Dardanelle State Park. For sports fans there are several local events such as the annual softball tournament held by American Legion Post 265 every summer at their ball field. I grew up in and around cherokee city in the 60s and 70s with my aunt and uncle george and eva norris and my grandma beaulah wooten and have many fond memories of that  More
