Along with fishing, Moss Landing offers year-round outdoor activities such as kayaking, surfing, camping, and bird watching at Elkhorn Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve. The local community is also supported by organizations such as the Moss Landing Lions Club and Moss Landing Chamber of Commerce which host annual events including the Elkhorn Slough Cleanup Day and the Fins & Feathers Festival.
