Clayton, Idaho is a small and friendly town located in the northern part of the state. Its population of 12 makes it one of the most sparsely populated towns in the country, yet its population density of 533 people per square mile makes it more densely populated than the US average. Being located in northern Idaho means that Clayton has plenty to offer in terms of year-round outdoor activities such as fishing, skiing, snowmobiling, hunting, and camping. Other local organizations include volunteer fire departments and community service groups such as Clayton Country Chapel and Clayton School District. Local businesses include The Lazy R Ranch Motel, Don’s Country Store, and Clayton Furniture & Design as well as a few other small shops and restaurants. Additionally, there are a few small sporting events held throughout the year such as rodeos and softball tournaments which bring together members of the community from all walks of life to participate in some friendly competition!
