Hinton, MI is a small town located in the lower part of Michigan. With a population of 1,191 and a population density of 32 people per square mile, it is one of the smaller towns in the area. Despite its size, Hinton has many local businesses that give this small town a unique charm. These include the Rustic Cafe which serves up delicious home-cooked meals, the Hinton Farmer’s Market which features fresh produce from local farms and vendors throughout the summer months, and Brians Bar where locals can grab a drink with friends.
Outdoor activities are abundant in Hinton too. Visitors and locals alike enjoy fishing on Little Cedar Lake, camping at Sunnyside Campground or playing disc golf at Jack’s Valley Park. There are also annual events held in town such as the Annual Fall Festival and Car Show put on by St. John’s Lutheran Church or the kids Fishing Derby hosted by Little Cedar Lake Preservation Society in May.
Sports are popular in Hinton as well with football beingthe most popular sport amongst locals. The high school football team is often seen competing against local schools for bragging rights during Friday night games at their stadium downtown. Additionally, there are several other sports teams active within the community like baseball and basketball teams organized through St Mary Parish Hall or youth soccer teams put together by parents that volunteer their time to coach them during practices every week.
