Timberon, NM is a small town located in the Otero County of New Mexico. It has a population of 175, and its population density is only 17 people per square mile. Despite its size, Timberon is an active town with plenty to offer. There are several local businesses in the area including a family-owned grocery store called Timberon Grocery Store and a restaurant called Mountain View Restaurant that serves delicious American-style food. Year-round outdoor activities can be found too! At nearly 8,000 feet in elevation, there are endless trails for hiking and camping at nearby Lincoln National Forest. For those who prefer sports, the Timberon Sports Complex offers fields for baseball, softball, kickball, and other outdoor sports. Additionally, there are also many organizations in town such as the Friends of Timberon group that offer educational programs on local wildlife and ecology or the local history museum which has displays about early settlers to the area. Lastly, every year Timberon hosts sporting events such as an annual golf tournament and fishing derby which brings together members of the community for friendly competition.
