Thorp, SD People

Thorp, SD is a small rural town located in the Great Plains with a population of 45 according to the last census. Although small in size, Thorp is home to several local businesses such as Peterson's Café and Bar, Johnson's Grocery Store, and Kowalski Hardware. Thorp offers its residents year-round outdoor activities such as fishing at Myron Lake and camping at Buells Park. There are also several organizations in town such as the Rotary Club and a youth center. Local sporting events take place all year round, including softball tournaments at Brookside Field during the summer and ice hockey games at the Thorp Ice Arena during winter months.
