Sawyer, KS is a small town with approximately 1,500 people. In this rural town there are several local religious congregations that are important to the community. The congregation of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church has served the Catholics in the Sawyer area since 1928, providing a place for them to come together and practice their faith in worship services and activities. The First Baptist Church of Sawyer was founded in 1887 and is one of oldest churches in the area. It serves it’s members, offering them weekly services as well as Bible study classes and Sunday school for children. Other churches located in town include Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Canal Creek Community Church, and Calvary Chapel of Liberty Hill which offers a youth ministry program. All these churches provide an important gathering place for the community to come together to share their faith and fellowship.
