Georgetown is a neighborhood in Washington, D.C., and its residents are served by a variety of religious congregations. These churches provide spiritual guidance, fellowship and worship opportunities for the local community. The most prominent church in Georgetown is the Foundry United Methodist Church, which was established in 1814. Other popular churches include St. John’s Episcopal Church, Grace Episcopal Church and Georgetown Presbyterian Church. All of these churches offer Sunday services as well as various ministries throughout the week. There are also smaller churches such as First Baptist Church, Asbury United Methodist Church and Westminster Presbyterian Church that offer valuable services to their congregations with pastoral counseling, bible studies and youth programs. While each congregation has its own unique style of worship, all share the common goal of spreading their Christian message to those living in the area.
