Despite its size, the town has a variety of local religious congregations that serve to bring spiritual understanding and comfort to the community. Two churches are located in Malcolm – First United Methodist Church and St. John's Lutheran Church. The First United Methodist Church has been serving the area since 1889 and they have a strong commitment to offering meaningful worship services and programs for all ages. St. John’s Lutheran Church also offers various activities including Sunday School, Bible Study and youth ministry groups. Both churches host events in the community such as Vacation Bible School throughout the year which help to bring together members of the community regardless of their background or beliefs.
