Ooltewah, TN is home to several local religious congregations. The most prominent among these are the First Baptist Church of Ooltewah and the New Testament Church of God. Both churches have long histories in the community and remain dedicated to providing a welcoming environment and spiritual guidance for their members. The First Baptist Church has been part of the Ooltewah area since 1883, when its first pastor, Rev. J. T. Mason, arrived from Georgia to lead a new congregation in the area. Since then, it has grown to become one of the largest churches in Chattanooga and Hamilton County, regularly hosting more than 500 congregants on any given Sunday. The New Testament Church of God was founded in 1941 by Rev. Ephraim Jobe and his wife Mrs. Effie Jobe as a church for those who were discriminated against due to their race or social standing at the time. Today, it continues to provide a place of worship for people from all walks of life and remains an important part of the Ooltewah community as well as a source of inspiration for its members.
